Baptism

Why are we baptized?

Being baptized in water is an important step for every Christian.

We are baptized to follow Christ’s example as we strive to model our lives after his. This act of obedience serves as a symbol of our new identity in Christ and as a public declaration of our commitment to living for God.

“Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
– Matthew 28:19

Frequently Asked Questions

The first step is letting us know that you are interested by filling out the form at the bottom of this page.

Before the next service, we will contact you to let you know when the next informational class is scheduled (this class is only one session long).

During the class, you will have an opportunity to ask questions and to learn more about why and how followers of Christ are baptized, when the next service is scheduled, and what you need to do.

We typically schedule baptism services 2-3 times per year. Once you complete the form at the bottom of this page, we will connect with you to see what date works well for you and your family.

Absolutely! We are happy to schedule your family to be baptized at the same service! Our baptismal tank is a little small to have more than one person being baptized at the same time, but we are happy to have the opportunity to baptize you in any order you would like.

At PCC, we believe that children should be baptized only when they are old enough to make a decision to follow Jesus. We do, however, recognize the importance for the adults in that child’s life (including their church family!) to make a commitment to raise the child in a way that encourages them to build a relationship with Christ. Because of this, many parents choose to participate in a baby dedication ceremony.

If you are interested in this, please contact the church office for more information.
